The Treasure Sate Board of Directors has lost the founder and chairman of our organization, Bob Cleverley. Coach Clev lost his battle with cancer. Those of us on the Board of Directors and in the football community will miss him. Without his hard work and dedication, we wouldn't have an 8 man clinic, an 8 man web site or an 8 man All-Star Game. I'm not sure I have ever met a man who has had a possitive impact on more people then Coach Clev had. Here is Coach Clev's obituary from the Montana Standard. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Bobby Cleverley
ENNIS - Bobby Allen Cleverley, born to Allen and LaVina Cleverley on June 21, 1938, died Oct. 6, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and graduated from high school at Bonneville High. He graduated from Western Montana College in Dillon. While there he met his wife, Janice Kay Ruegsegger. They were married on June 13, 1960, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Bob signed his teaching contract at Ennis High School in April 1961, and never left the Madison Valley he loved.
Bob taught high school and coached football in Ennis for 38 years. He spent his summers guiding on the Madison River, enjoying his love of flyfishing. Bob was an active community member and spent his time doing exactly what he taught his students to do: "Be Educated, Be Informed, Be Involved!" All who knew Bob knew of his love for his family, students, players and community - especially the Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Ruegsegger Cleverley; daughters, Valerie Richards and husband Stacey of Bozeman, Vicki Wardell and husband David of Las Vegas, Nev., Debbie Coffman and husband Chad of Ennis; beloved grand- children, Cameron and Dalton Richards, Jordan, Colton, Chandler and Britton Wardell, and Kayla and Clay Coffman; brothers, Gerry Cleverley and Max Cleverley; and sister, Susan Cleverley, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, John and Delma Ruegsegger and granddaughter, Morgan Brittany Wardell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in the Ennis High School Gymnasium. Interment will follow in the Madison Valley Cemetery.
Bob has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ennis Lions Club or the Madison Valley Hospice.
K&L Mortuaries of Ennis in charge of arrangements.

Treasure State 8-Man Football was established to promote 8-man football in Montana. We promote 8-man football through three activities right now:

The Treasure State 8-man Football Clinic is in it's 28th year. The 2008 clinic will be March 14th and 15th in Missoula. For more information contact Rick Miller. The clinic brings together the best 8-man coaches in the west! The 2008 clinic registration form will be available in Feb. If you are interested in attending at the 2008 clinic, please contact us or DOWNLOAD the registration form, print it out and mail it in. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the registration form. If you have any trouble, download the appropriate version for your computer, it's free.

The Bob Cleverley 8-man All Star Football Game is in it's 25th year and will be played once again at Alumni Coliseum at Montana Tech in Butte Montana. The game is May 31st, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. This game was established to show off the great players in 8-man football in the state of Montana. Scholarships are awarded to selected student athletes in the game by the All-Star Coaches and area College coaches come to watch the players.

This site has also been set up for 8-man football coaches. In this section you can find offenses, defenses and special teams. The information contained here comes from some of the best coaches in Montana and the Northwest! Most of the pages were also topics at the Treasure State 8-man Football Clinic. Thanks to all the High School and College Coaches who have contributed. If you would like to contribute please contact me.

When you are navigating through this site, this page is considered the home page. We hope you enjoy the site and continue to support and promote the great game of 8-man football! We will! If you have any questions about the site or suggestions you can e-mail Rick Miller. Please be sure to sign our guest book!
